Education, Experience and Approach

My focus has been on adolescents and adults dealing with mental health and substance use issues, specializing in depression, trauma, anxiety, women's issues, and relapses. I'm also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to alleviate the pain associated with past events that continue to impact the present.  I'm particularly passionate about helping men, women, and adolescents, especially those who have served in the military, find freedom from life's burdens. I earned my Master's of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2017 and became licensed in March 2024. I enjoy constantly learning new skills and techniques to empower individuals who have experienced trauma, substance dependence, or relationship challenges.

My current therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skill building, Motivational Interviewing (MI), person-centered therapy, and Gestalt therapy. However, I'm open to using any combination of techniques to meet your unique needs.

In addition to my clinical work, I have experience in facilitating biblical counseling for women aged 12 and up. I've been a Christian since 2012 and am committed to integrating biblical truths into therapy for those who desire it. I believe in the promise from 2 Corinthians 5:17 that in Christ, the old has passed away, and the new has come, though I understand the challenges of living by this promise. I'll guide you through biblical truth, pray with you, and empower you to experience freedom.

My approach is to meet you where you are and use therapeutic techniques that you're comfortable with to facilitate positive life changes during our time together and beyond. My goal is to ensure that each session leaves you one degree better than when you entered.
